Frank Beckers founder of Symbulos Management ConsultancyFrank Beckers, the Founder of Symbulos, has over 25 years of banking and consultancy experience.

Before founding Symbulos Frank was globally responsible for First Abu Dhabi Bank’s (FAB) Project Finance & Advisory business. He joined FAB in 2015 with a mandate to expand the Project Finance & Advisory franchise beyond the Middle East into Africa and Asia. Frank joined FAB from McKinsey & Company where he served as a Senior Advisor to the firm, supporting the firm and its clients globally on PPP, infrastructure & energy finance as well as project finance related aspects. Prior to this, he worked 14 years for Deutsche Bank, where he was Global Co-Head of Project & Capital Advisory (Project Finance) from 2003 until his departure in 2012. In this role he also relocated to Deutsche Bank's branch in Dubai in 2007 to lead the expansion of the bank's franchise to the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific and establish new teams in Dubai and Singapore. Frank started his career in  1993 at DEG - German Investment & Development Company (KfW-Group), a specialized development financial institution owned by the German government. At DEG's Infrastructure department he gained valuable experience in structuring and implementing debt & equity (project) finance structures in various emerging markets in Latin America, Africa and Asia.

During his career Frank has advised industry clients and institutional investors on large scale greenfield and brownfield infrastructure & energy projects. He also acted as advisor to several national governments (including Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, and Egypt) and the European Commission on single PPP projects as well as larger procurement master plans in various industry sectors. He has structured and advised on projects financed by investment banks, development financial institutions (DFI), export credit agencies (ECA) as well as institutional investors, involving debt, equity and mezzanine instruments. In addition to his advisory activities, Frank has structured and arranged several large scale syndicated loan financings in telecom, media and technology (TMT) as well as in the conventional and renewable power sector. He has been a regular speaker at regional and global PPP, infrastructure, defence and renewable energy conferences in Europe, the Middle East and Asia for several years.

Frank studied economics, international management and finance at the University of Cologne (Germany), ESADE Business School (Spain) and Pennsylvania State University (USA). He holds a Master's Degree in International Management from the Community of European Management Schools (CEMS) and a Master's Degree in Economics ("Diplom-Volkswirt") from the University of Cologne.
